Auckland Bone Density was formed in 1994 by clinical, academic and research bone specialists in order to advance effective prevention and treatment of osteoporosis and the fracture complications. Bone density measurements are used to indicate bone strength and to allow our Specialists to guide programs for referring doctors and their patients. Auckland Bone Density uses DXA, a high technology measurement technique that is the leading research and clinical method worldwide.

The Bouxsein group employs a multidisciplinary strategy with state-of-the-art technologies to study the causes, detection and treatment of skeletal fragility. One in two women and one in five men over the age of 50 will suffer a fragility fracture in their remaining lifetime. Thus, our ultimate goal is to reduce the burden of fractures due to osteoporosis and other bone disorders.
